I went to check out the Dhaba Lane pop-up nestled in the basement of the Crimson Heart vintage cafe in trendy Shoreditch.
A friendly and welcoming Arti greet me, and after a brief chat directed me down to the basement.
When I headed down the stairs, I walked into what felt like a vintage tea room. Great cosy feel and light fresh food from the Dhaba Lane kitchen. Loved the gentle spicing and healthiness of the chicken with courgettes (£5), but we were sad that we did not get the lamb curry we had had our eye on from the previous week. Anyway, there is always a next time!
If you want dessert, they do a traditional Indian cardomom infused rice pudding (£1). Also, the mango lassi is refreshing especially on a warm day (£2).
Thank you to Arti and Upma for looking after us. Watch this space for more on Dhaba Lane in the future!
