This morning I decided to cheer myself up, with the prospect of more tube strikes thanks to RMT and TSSA unions, with a cup of Douwe Egberts instant cappuccino, accompanied by buttermilk crumpets from Waitrose (light and fluffy, and much better than regular crumpets) topped with Regents Park honey – an exclusively produced honey in Regents Park bee hives by Pure Food using special New Zealand bees. It has a wonderful, unique floral notes and I think it is slightly less sweet than regular honey. I love it as it brightens up your breakfast and is versatile – great on toast, crumpets or in porridge; or can be used in, for example, a dessert to give it that unique twist (eg. low fat bio yoghurt, mixed berries and honey; or grilled fresh figs and mascarpone marbled with honey).
Right, now I am ready to head off and tackle the annoying tube strikes with my new Fresh Foam New Balance trainers for the long walks!
Good luck to all fellow travellers who are having to get to work somehow with these annoying strikes, and thanks to Leon for helping to cheer everyone up with coffees!
