I (Jason) have just been put on the new FODMAP diet by my GP and dietician, due to my IBS recently flaring up quite badly and not responding fully to medications, and we are starting to find out (the hard way!) how restrictive it is; especially as we are food bloggers.
I have included a link below to acceptable food on the diet. To clarify, you can eat any of the foods in the low FODMAP column. [You CAN’T eat any of the food in the high column, i.e they are foods banned by the diet.] Also, from personal experience avoid red meat.
I will be charting my progress over the weeks, and will endevour to write about any restaurants we visit that can provide fodmap diet friendly/ wheat-free/ gluten-free alternatives to items on their menu.
