We went to Flat Iron and were greeted by smiling and very pleasant owner Charlie Carroll, whose team looked after all people in the long line with fab popcorn.
When we got in, we wondered down to the cool bar; which is like a wine cave, but with a comforting feeling. We were looked after by the bar team: Jessie and bartenders Carl and Danny; who were creating amazing cocktails. We particularly enjoyed the Pound Sterling and the Old Fashioned. The bar team were even game for a bit of a laugh with a photo op!
Upstairs in the restaurant, waitress Jane looked after us with more popcorn followed by flavorful Wagu steak, chips and aubergine gratin.
Ensure you save space for their hot donuts back downstairs in the bar (didn’t take long for Jessie and Carl to talk us into saving space for these before we went for dinner). They are from St John’s Bakery, but Flat Iron team make their own fillings; which change every two weeks. When we went we got fluffy, warm donuts with rhubarb and vanilla custard. Yummy!!!
